MTB Season Complete!
After six weeks of racing, the ECCC mountain bike season is over! UNH riders competed in every race, starting in September at UMASS and ending last weekend in Truckee, CA with the National Championships. The team sent four riders to compete at Nationals and cheer each other (and the rest of the ECCC!) on. The sunny California weather and stiff competition made it a trip to remember! Congratulations to all the riders who competed, improved, and had fun.
In the Eastern Conference, the UNH team ended up finishing third overall, with several riders finishing in the top three in their respective classes. A big thank you goes out to all the riders as well as UNH Campus Rec and our coach, Al Raine. The team is looking forward to next year's mountain season for some more exciting racing. See you then!

A Muddy Pennsylvania Weekend
The reward for a 7 hour drive? Bike racing! After making the trek to Lehigh, PA for the third weekend of collegiate mountain biking the UNH cycling team was treated to some mtb action. Members competed in the usual cross country and downhill events, as well as two new relay- style races. Showing their teamwork and skill UNH teams raced to 4th place in the Men's A xc/ dh hybrid relay as well as 2nd and 1st place in the A and B category team relays, respectively. Racers from UNH also posted great individual finishes, including 2nd in women's A XC, 4th in men's A STXC and 3rd in men's A downhill. Despite a rainy second day of racing the weekend was a great time. This Friday the team will head North to the great state of Maine for the highly anticipated Northeastern Sunday River event.

UNH Mountain Bike Race a Success!
The "UNH Kingman Cross- Country Classic/ Highland downhill extravaganza" was hosted by the UNH cycling team over the weekend. With roughly 200 riders in attendance the event solidified itself as one of the most popular in the collegiate calendar. A big thanks goes out to Highland Mountain Bike Park, which hosted the gravity events on Sunday. Highland is THE East Coast freeride destination, and a perfect venue for gravity racing. The UNH team looks forward to partnering with Highland in the future. Next weekend the MTB team heads south to Lehigh, PA to build on the successes of our home race. With riders vying for the top spot in nearly every category, there are sure to be more impressive results to come!

Last weekend UNH cycling members Sean Berry, Mike Frothingham, Ben Cargill and Angus Rose competed in the 24 Hours of Great Glen, a mountain bike relay race spanning an entire day. Out of 155 registered teams, UNH came in 7th, and 6th in the Men's Expert category. A big thanks goes out to all the friends and family members who helped by housing, feeding, transporting and generally supporting us! UNH takes second in Boston Beanpot
The UNH cycling team had impressive finishes in every race this weekend at the Boston Beanpot, but was edged out for the Division 1 victory by the larger numbers of UVM. Nonetheless a great time was had by all and two members of the team came away with official Beanpot winner's jerseys! UNH's performance was also helped by several new racers, who despite their inexperience performed excellently and contributed invaluable points to the team total. Next weekend UNH travels to Vermont to take on UVM on their home turf.
